Introducing
Kris De Ruysscher is a contemporary classical composer whose work forms a unique synthesis of modern classical music, cinematic music, ambient sounds, and post-minimalism. Born in Belgium, he draws inspiration from cosmopolitan experiences, cultural diversity, and profound artistic expression. His compositions explore new sonic landscapes and push the traditional boundaries of music, resulting in innovative works that resonate intellectually and emotionally.
De Ruysscher’s music has been featured across various multimedia platforms, including documentaries, short films, installations, and dance performances. His ability to create rich, cinematic atmospheres makes his work highly sought after by creators aiming to forge deep emotional connections with their audiences. Through his mastery of delicate harmonies, refined rhythms, and layered soundscapes, he evokes beauty, introspection, and a subtle melancholy that define his style.
With formal training in guitar and media composition, along with extensive experience working with symphony orchestras, De Ruysscher has honed his craft to perfection. A finalist in several international composition competitions, he also shares his expertise as a composition and guitar teacher.
He is currently Composer-in-Residence for Brussels Muzieque, is a leading chamber music institution based in the capital of Europe, curating outstanding performances and fostering collaborations with distinguished international artists.
