Kris De Ruysscher is a composer who blends the essence of classical music, blues and jazz into a distinctive sonic tapestry. Born in Belgium, he draws inspiration from his cosmopolitan experiences, cultural diversity and artistic expression to create innovative compositions that defy traditional boundaries. His music has been featured in various multimedia platforms including documentaries, short films, installations and dance performances, showcasing his remarkable ability to evoke a deep emotional connection with his listeners.

As with any worthwhile artistic journey, his is characterised by a quest for self-discovery and an unwavering commitment to storytelling. He believes that arriving at a unique sound is a complex process that requires a deep understanding of oneself and a willingness to confront personal experiences. His compositions are characterised by intricate harmonies, rhythms and timbres that evoke beauty, serenity and an underlying sense of melancholy. An accomplished musician, De Ruysscher has honed his skills through formal training in guitar and media composition, as well as practical experience working with symphony orchestras. He has also explored the intersection of music and psychology, earning a degree in psychology. A finalist in many international music composition competitions, he currently shares his expertise as a music theory and guitar teacher at a music academy in the Brussels area.
